New Dermatology Group – Iron Mountain Clinic

Site Design | Wisconsin | Back

Challenge

Established as a single location by Dr. Kevan Lewis in 2012, The New Dermatology Group leveraged years of providing measurably superior, compassionate dermatology care into offering five additional sites to offer its ever-growing patient base in Northeast Wisconsin, the Fox Valley, and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. But with a steadfast commitment to excellence, it was only a matter of time before the company outgrew the space it was leasing to host its own location in Iron Mountain, MI.

Solution

Offering an incredibly diverse team of highly skilled providers, The New Dermatology Group wanted a site development partner that was just as talented, leading to Kapur being hired to provide surveying, site design, and landscaping services.

No stranger to cold weather, the Kapur team was prepared to take on the challenges presented by the precipitation and frost depths Iron Mountain is prone to experience.

Additionally, tying into the existing sanitary sewer system proved difficult due to the shallow depth of the existing main and the site sloping away from said main. But, Kapur was able to conduct a quick cost analysis that led to the installation of a lift station, rather than bringing in material to elevate the building, which would have proved costly.

Subcontractors were able to conduct geothermal work, create heated concrete, and offer electric charging stations, while Kapur led the extensive permitting coordination required between the State, County, and City, including two separate County permitting bodies (DCCG and DCCCC).
